Debbie Yamada’s 30-40 minute PowerPoint book presentation covers the inspiration for the book, writing process, development of illustrations, reading of selected passages and a question and answer period.

Assemblies are conducted by grade level (for 3rd grade and up) and are $75 per assembly (max. 70 students) with a $150 minimum. This is a special rate for schools within the author’s home area in Long Beach. For all other schools and organizations, fees will be negotiated. Students will have the option of purchasing a personally signed copy of the book for $15 (tax included). Pre-order forms will be made available.

The author has spoken to adults and children at Barnes & Noble, Bowers Museum, California School Librarians Association, Los Angeles Times Festival of Books and Kid City, libraries, historical societies, authors’ festivals and numerous schools throughout California. A press kit will be provided upon request.
